Explains the only vote for "Against" in your poll.

I don't understand why you're against it. Might be helpful to explain.

I'm definitely for it. Linkin Park has been so restricted under Warner Bros. Now that Mike is doing this side solo project, and is doing it under a label which is partly his (considered to be owned by all of Linkin Park), he can experiment more and we could see more of Mike's musical ideas. Everyone says Hybrid Theory EP was one of their greatest works...well that's because they had been Independent and had less restrictions and of course, made it more interesting. This is Mike's chance to break his restrictions and show what we, Linkin Park fans, have been waiting for.

How could you be against it, though? Do you think that by doing this, Mike is trying to seperate himself from Linkin Park or something? You gotta explain it.

everyone needs a side project. can you imagine if you didnt have another way to release?

besides, it gives everyone a chance to streach their wings.

saying you're against it is like saying you're against Joe directing vieos.

So you hate side-projects. And even if the side-project is good you will still hate it just because its a side-project?

I thought you would have figured out by now
that linkin park = side projects

I dont mean to be rude but i think your just a rock type person and since this is hip hop its natural 2 go against it. Imean look at all the side-projects, theyve all been more hip-hop oriented (Reanimation, Collison Course and Fort Minor). So i can see why you dislike side-projects.

For, of course. But now that LP is in this legal trouble with Warner this may get pushed back (as Machine Shop is part of Warner, I believe). Hopefully not though, as this could be great. Mike was basically the man behind Reanimation, one of their most interesting and diverse albums, and I'm sure this will at least match that.

I vote 'for' even though I hate most hip-hop, and I will explain why (so no one has to ask why). Most people associate hip-hop with rap, right? Well, essentially, they are the same thing (in my mind, correct me if I'm wrong). Mike doesn't rap about stupid things, or just say shit about hos. He actually puts a message in his lyrics, rather than a catchy beat with random shit. There ya go. Feast on that.

Yeh they pretty much the same thing. But, Hip Hop is the culture and rap tends to be the music.

There are lots of emcees out there that puts a message in their lyrics. And believe it or not there are actually more rappers of that kind around than the ones that talk shit.

Your just not looking hard enough my friend.

i am for his solo album. mainly because I have always been into his rapping. And I don't like hip hop music, but I love the way Mike throws it down. He just has a way of doing it. I always listen to LP albums waiting for Mike's solo rap part. Now if he's making an album, I don't have to wait, cuz the whole thing will be his solo! I mean I don't know how exactly I'll feel about it until it's out in stores and I buy it and hear it for myself. But I do know that I'm gonna miss that LP style. We'll just have to see. But I love Mike to death...this solo thing was bound to happen soon enough anyways..and I couldn't be more excited for him or the album!

Mike isn't alone about putting messages into lyrics, and if you think Hip-Hop is the same as Rap, you really need to get into the culture more. Mos Def, Talib Kweli... underground artists.

I'm really interested in listening to Fort Minor. I think the album is going to be kickass. The fans get to see another side of Mike that doesn't show through most of the time. I hardly doubt his ego is that big. I'm sure he'll split from the group, just not now. Sometime in the future when Linkin Park has broken up, he'll probably continue on his solo work. I wouldn't worry about it now.

In a statement directely from Mike he said that Fort Minor will not affect the band in anyway. He clearly stressed that this DOES NOT mean the band is breaking up in any way, and that this merely a fun side project to do while the band is making preperations for the next album.

I'm sure LP doesn't want to release thier next album on Warner Bros, so they're probably holding out until they can get out of thier contract with warner.
