I can't believe this. :o :(

Blink-182 have entered an indefinate hiatus. Although this means that they haven't actually broken up, I'm so pissed about this. I mean, they were planning a new EP and going on about how their latest album was just the beginning and now this? Damn...

edit: after reviewing everything, it isnt that bad. my friend isnt that worried either, i think theyll probably come back or do something else soon, and if not we have their older music to keep on going with.

I read about this last night. One of the performers at the Music For Relief charity concert on the 18th said Blink-182 pulled out at the last second becuase they had "broken up". Something about Travis' new reality tv show. Can you say ratings?

Anyways, let's not celebrate this hiatus or bash them.

Also remember they've done this type of thing before.

Remember Boxcar Racer?

I had the sound off when the news came on, but i saw Dave Navarro and Blink 182 in the same news-thing.

Yeah, it doesnt make any sense

The news sucks but truthfully I don't think they would be able to make another album as good as the self titled one anyway, not even close to it. If it was their last album at least you know it was a great one.

Well, they're music went downhill with the last album, if you ask me. It's not that they're not good at trying to be serious, it's just that it was far too bland.

I would like to think that's not true. You don't leave a charity concert over a tv show.

I think you misread. The band may have gone on hiatus because of the tv show, and pulled out of the event because they were on hiatus.

Nevertheless, they could've played one last show for tsunami victims.

Where would be the point? Meet The Barkers has already been filmed.

I just hope that this means there's a new Box Car Racer album

I could care less.I don't see anything interesting about Blink 182's music, their songs are very plain and sound exactly like all their other songs.

Paul
02-23-2005, 09:53 PM
What assholes. They didn't even play the tsunami benefit show because they were on 'hiatus.' Give me a fucking break.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they're going on a break because they're tired of touring, promotional work, recording, etc.

Why on earth would they do another Boxcar Racer album?

I don't like Blink 182 much. The song they did with Robert Smith is gold, and a few of their other songs are nice when you want something upbeat and catchy, but I rarely listen to them.

And yet for some reason reading abour the hiatus made me sad.

Yes, because signing up to do a benefit show and then pulling out because they're on a hiatus makes them assholes. Great logic there.

Its a form of rock just like:

Nu-Metal
Heavy Metal
Punk Rock
Hard Rock
Progressive Rock
Grunge Rock
etc.

Even if the title of the category is metal its still a form of rock because metal music was formed out of rock music

Okay, I'll correct you. The reason that people have discovered is that there was an arguement about royalties of some songs.

And if that's the case then Tom could write songs for BCR as there would be no problems about royalties. Of course that'd be if they decided to stay in the music business... And I guess I phrased it wrongly. It should have said something like:

I want there to be a new Box Car Racer album if Blink break up.

But now it's been said that Blink haven't broken up or anything anyway. Travis has confirmed that it is only a short break in that KROQ interview.

Which is here. (http://www.kroq.com/kevinandbean/soundshome.html)

well, i agree with some of you on the fact that their songs can sound very similar, but i like Blink, so i'm kinda upset
my friend completely flipped out, he was almost at tears (i think)
