I think it might have been better,but it wouldnt have had the commercial value since fans of one of either lp or jay wouldnt be familiar with the other work, so that why mike said that they wanted to do songs everyone has heard

I don't think they should have created original songs, I think they should have created these mixes knowing that the audience has listened to all the songs. They should have mixed the songs better and not just play one song over the other's sample.

thats true as well, but considering they only had a week at top recording this i think they did a pretty neat job. at first their was only going to be two songs so to come out with six is something special

Disagree.

The chorus might be annoying in "Izzo", but the song is actually pretty good, and the fact that Chester and Mike went and re-recorded parts (?) of "In The End" makes it blend together even better.

I think ALONG with the mashups it would have been nice to have at least ONE song original, I think that would have been a nice treat.

Why would they be original? It was a Mash-Up album. It was done Mash-Up style.

In a sense, I have to agree. In all fairness however, Jay-z was about to retire. If I were in Mikes place, I probably would have taken the oppurtunity to work and perfom with Jay-Z before the chance was gone. HOWEVER, I dont think they should have released CC as a studio record. I think they should have just done the live performance for MTV if all they could come up with was 6 songs. Just my personal opinion.

I see now that it was good in many different ways that they used their original stuff. Though (as someone else stated) maybe atleast one original would have been a nice treat. ;)
