I suppose a man that lives by reason and logic can only go so long without seeing his flaws of practice.
When I came to this board, I was a Christian. For the past several months, I've been a doubter. Now, I'm done. I don't believe. I can't believe in a creator that commands us to denounce that which is our means of survival: thought. A mother bird does not break the wings of it's child. A father fish does not teach its young to swim on land. I cannot believe in a nameless entity (which is a contradiction in terms, to be an entitiy is to BE, to have an identification and certain nature) that commands me to believe and not think, that commands me to accept and not question. Any being that preaches this code acts on the standard of death and of anti-survival. Why hope for an after life in the realm of only spirit? I appreciate life as my heaven, and the only existing place where my spirit and body live in perfect harmony.
That is what I know in my mind.

It's change. In my life, I'd say it's a good thing. I can appreciate this life more, and stop wasting my time with contradictions. ^_^

I *heart* that quote.
Good for you! I don't like beliving in something blindly with no proof.
I prefer to work on logic.
GO YOU! :hugz:
If you're happier this way, I'm happy for you...sad but true, I'm like that.

Agrees.
There's too many bible-pushers these days.
That's probably the most meaningful thing I've ever heard in over a week. I'm a Catholic, and I never saw the religion like that. And you know what? I think you're right. I just don't know how easy it would be to just ditch my religion, though.
Good stuff dude as long as you made the decision for yourself and not becasue you were forced to. I've always said a free thinker is a good thinker.

Some of you act like if believers are wrong, are kinda "stupid" to follow a religion...

I can't recall that being quoted; the word "stupid" at least but not even really implied either. After reading the posts I gathered that people were just praising him for accepting what he wanted to accept, not praising him because he no longer beleives in a creator. The most devout Cathloc or the most carefree Atheist is never "stupid" what's stupid is the way people make others feel when they don't share the same beliefs as that person, that's what freedom of religion and more importantly seperation of church and state are all about.

I think that's what Avenger was alluding to in his post, and that's why I said what I did in mine.

Religion is an escape, merely man's malcontent for life and it's consequences. People use religion as worry stone.
