this is my first ever post, so I'd appreciate criticism....please.

My Sustenance

A ray of sunshine that reaches the
Cold dark corners of my wasted soul
A sliver of hope that touches me
When I feel I can hope no more
Warm sunlight that melts the ice
Surrounding the vulnerability that is my core
A cool salve that heals my burns
And soothes my cuts and sores.

Strong arms that protect me
And keep me safe at night
Strong arms that hold me
When I cry out in fright
When blackness surrounds me
And emptiness prevails
There is one who I can turn to
When all else fails.

Who shall fight my battle with me
Fight so I may be free
Fight so I am trapped no more
Fight so I may with him, soar
Fight so I am no longer confined
Fight so I regain what is truly mine
Fight for the light that eludes me so
Fight when I can fight no more.
