Latest Update on the New Dream Theater album from Mike Portnoy:
- Recordings will be finished in February.
- Released planned for May.
- James was present during the writing/composing period.
- Mixer still unknown (it won't necessarily be Kevin Shirley).
- Jordan has brought new keyboards (Roland, Yamaha, Korg, Haken, Synthogy) and also there's a piano in the studio.
- Mike will record with the Siamese Monster and the "John Bonham" kit which he used for the Led Zeppelin tribute.
- Vocal melodies already written. Lyrics by James, JP and Mike still unfinished.
- Album title already chosen (not revealed).
- Mike said (translated from Italian): "The new album will be different from all the previous ones. Still, it won't be DT's new direction, but simply another experimentation. Our fans, they know us, we like challenge".
