Hey, I'm a high school senior and thought this would be a cool topic...with all us seniors looking at colleges, i thought it would be cool to see where other people were looking and going
Me personally I am going to University of Rochester, and also got into knox college and suny binghamton
I've already been accepted to the beautiful Ashland University (http://www.ashland.edu) in North-Central Ohio.

I was accepted to Drexel University in Pennsylvania, California Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Virginia Tech.
I am currently attending Virginia Tech, and absolutely love it.
I was accepted at University of Minnesota (Morris and Twin Cities), Minnesota State at Winona, and University of Wisconsin (Superior, La Crosse, and Eau Claire).
I put in a semester at Eau Claire, then due to stress levels and personal problems decided to take a semester off. Right now I'm taking a few classes at a community college and working, and going back to Eau Claire in the fall.

I moved to Bakersfield for college. I choose Bakersfield because L.A. scares me. I'm origanly from Amityville New York. You know. The place with the haunted house. I'm considering moving back though to take a break from California and visit family

I'm probably going to take an English class at Bakersfield College (the junior college) for like, a semester, maybe a year. Then I'm going to a film school. Hopefully.

Awesome, I'm looking into doing a music minor as well. Though the Engineering curiculum is keeping me busy as it is. I'm in a music theory course this semester.

Holy crap so do I. Two of my friends already go there. It'll DRAIN me of money (about 80,000 dollars) but it'll be fun.
I'm most likely going to Southern Methodist University or The University of Texas at Austin if I get lucky, but I'm gonna try to transfer into the University of Southern California or New York University depending on my grades.
After that I'll go for UT Southwestern Medical Center for my M.D.

Next year, I'm most likely going to Cégep de Limoilou for a three years technique in mechanical engineering and then to École de Technlogogie Supérieure (Superior Technology School, a university) in mechanical engineering again.
We kinda have 2 levels of education after high school here and you have to go through the first (Cégep) if you want to go to university.

Nice. It's a bit odd, I've got a ton of theory under my belt and I haven't even taken the class yet in my high school. But yes, music is my passion. I hope to be a high school choir director one day.

i like UNR. ive nvr seen UNLV.
where are you planning to go if not anywhere in NV?
i just thought 10k was too much to waste lol

yeah, i have to get a 3.25 too, and it just so happens that everyone that graduates before me (07) just has to get a 3.1. its stupid.
i actually heard UNR is pretty good, i think its kind of far though. UNLV pretty much gets you no where, i believe their only requirement is a pulse.
im actually thinking about going to IADT (international academy of design and technology) here in las vegas. i really dont know much about it but its the only school for fashion design i could find and i think somewhere said it was good  if i dont stay here, id probably go somewhere like san fran because its the closest and my uncle lives there.
yeah, basically the only thing thats really keeping me here for college is the millenium scholarship.

yeah, i like UNR. it is pretty good. haha as i said b4, it is like the prettiest place in all of this state (excluding Tahoe area) haha and that is another plus to UNR, you are right at Tahoe. but i dont have enough money to go snow boarding :'(
we are really lucky to have the Millenium. it would be so hard to pay for college w/o it. and the reason they did it is just what you said: it is the only thing keeping you here.
UNR is a lil better than UNLV...i think
it isnt the best school in the world though. i always think that its funny that ppl form other countries and states come here. there are students from like 53 or 153 diff countries...i dotn remember exactly. but still i like UNR. but im not sure it is more competitive than UNLV. if you like sports i suppose UNLV is good hahaha at least a hell of a lot better than The Wolf Pack.
at UNR you will be surrounded by tons of other LV ppl. i mean tons. haha i think there are more ppl from LV than Reno, or at least close. haha no one is interested in college in Reno. haha sry that was mean.
anyways i think im rambeling. so i'll shut up.
hehe i always forget that you are a fellow Nevadan :P
haha my brother didnt get the millenium scholarship because hes pretty damn stupid  so he just goes to community college (CCSN) and has to pay for everything.
yeah, its good for the city because they have people stay here to use money and work for all the tourists

yeah, thats the only reason they created this scholarship, so ppl would stay here.
our state is floundering. and we have no smart ppl. w/o this, everyone w/ a chance would leave. who can make a real life in Nevada?
haha im sry, but our state isnt the greatest in the country.

Oh well, I'm either going to Southern Methodist University or UT Austin and both are fantastic schools. I'm happy to give them my money, but I wish SMU would lower their tuition a bit :wth:
Don't count on it, it being a private college. Same with Baylor.

Cool, I was just about to ask around, then I found this topic so I'll ask here.
Does anyone know a university in Ohio that is near Canton?
(Do you normally have to be Christian to get in a Christian university?)
The only one I found was Ashland University, so far.

Last I checked, what religion you are doesnt matter for what school you go to, except maybe BYU
So the answer is no
No religion doesn't matter. In fact, it is sometimes easier to get in where you're different

My mom went there. Since I'm only in seventh grade, I have plenty of time to look at colleges. The ones at the top of my list are Stanford, USC, Pepperdine, UCSD, and UCSB. I just want something far away from home, but close enough for me to visit when I want.

I want to go to either Ringling School of Art and Design, Tampa Institute of Art, or Savannah College of Art and Design. But if by some miracle we can afford it, or I get a full scholarship not limited to in state colleges, I'll probably end up going to SCAD.
