On By Myself on the DVD, Brad plays a nice little intro. Is this done specifically for live performances or is there an alternate version of the song. I know it's not BY_MYSLF, is it Marilyn Manson's remix Buy Myself? I've never heard it, thanks.

It is done specifically for live performances. Buy myself is a kind of bland mix of the song.

If you pay attention he's playing the chords from the verses, but with no distortion and all that fun stuff. Or he's playing chords very similar to what you hear in the verses. Either way it's not from a new song or anything like that. That "new" intro was made specifically for "By Myself" and only "By Myself."

I think only you and me know what that word means. :D I'll have to look into that Chord theory. It would make sense. I can't really see Brad wracking his brain trying to think of an intro.

I think they use that intro for live concerts only. On the album the song kind of jumps right into the beat. For the concert they probably wanted something that could take them into the song instead of having to instantly start playing with everyone on the ball and ready.

its awesome. it categorizes linkin park. you know like the calm intro goes straight into the hard part with chester going nuts and stuff..same shit 'with you'. joe scratches around a bit and then go into the first beat. just imagine it without. chester would start screaming and no one in the crowd would know of whats going on.
