Avril's already extremely popular. She's all over the radios and television, especially where me and you live, in Canada. Don't like it? Don't see it.

I think Avril Lavigne is a talented artist, and so do many other people here, Otoorva, so I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Especially because of the fact you're barely ever here.

I'm not being paranoid either. I don't hate Avril Lavigne, I just personally think that this movie is going to be one of those terribly crappy movies that makes it big, and has everyone talking about it, when in reality, it's a pile of crap. They could have at least called it 'Skater Boy'. Sounds like it was made by some 13 year old teenie boppers for 13 year old teenie boppers.

Bottom line, my opinion is that the whole idea of making this movie is stupid. They're using a stereotypical character structure, and most of all, it's going to have the radio station's overplaying that goddamn song again.

Neil, if you think about it, though, isn't the world stereotypical anyways?

First off you have to think that if it was based off Avril's song, then it will probably be spelled the same way because of either respect for Avril's song, or identity.

I'm no Avril fan, but if you think about it, Sk8er Boi's lyrics is sadly how society makes you think, for some people. You know, because in real life a lot of those who aren't "up to par" will never get one of those that are "up there."

So what if it's crappy, need I mention all the other teenie movies that have already been made starring Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan...? :lol:

Now as for her career? Avril can't get any bigger unless the following occurs: She gets her own reality TV show, buys out an island, buys seven-hundred dogs, calls them all "Fifi," "Poochi," "Lala," and other rediculous names and ends up becoming queen of the world and having every living soul call each other punk and we are forced by law to write like "Sk8er Boi."

This is just another one of those movies, just it was inspired by a song... This should be no surprise to anyone, so stop acting like it's the end of the world, guys... :lol:

I think she's talented too...Sk8er Boi just happens to be the worst song she's ever put out! Songs like Nobody's Home (which happens to be written by Ben Moody) and Losing Grip are very catchy to listen to, and they're alright!

Trust me, she's better than some of the crap that's out there today (Ashlee Simpson, Hillary Duff, Lindsey Lohan)

I just have to put in my two cents here.

Stop the hate, spread the love. I don't particularly care for Ms. Lavigne myself, but have noticed a significant improvement in her music. I have to say that her second album is better than her first--maybe because when I heard it, I was reminded slightly of the Cranberries, and IMHO, the Cranberries freaking rock. So I doubt I'll see this movie, but it's mostly because it doesn't look at all like the kind of movie I'd enjoy. However, I'll be sure to recommend it to my sister.

Avril Lavigne is the highest paid Canadian female artist. And well, you gotta admit, she's a pretty talented singer.

She's done so well for her age. The whole 'don't give a shit' attitude was one of the most copied looks in like... ever. :lol:

So what if there's a movie loosely based on her song? She didn't create the whole, so-called future fiasco film herself.

Of course to some it might cause a chain reaction of shittiness, but for the whole, who cares? C'mon she's investing in the big bucks? Who wouldn't?

See the trailers, forget about it. You've got a clicker, turn off the damn TV. Sounds simple enough.

It was rather fun reading all those comments XDD

I'm going to wait to see the trailer before I make any comments on what I think of the movie. If the trailers portray the movie as one of the films you DON'T want to see over the summer vacation, then I won't watch it or wait till it comes out on video where I can pay less money, turn it off if I want and watch something else, or at least be in the comfort of my own home.
