View Full Version : 2005 Tour?

NickelNine

i was informed, earlier today, by a friend who is hardcore Linkin Park fan, that a local rock radio station called 93x in Minnesota, after playing "In the End" said that Linkin Park was going to be performing at the Target Center (Minneapolis) on March 14th. that was the only information given i was told. and i do not know anymore details. the lpunderground.com and linkinpark.com do not have any information confirming a possible tour. is there anyone else out there who has heard any rumors or statements from the band or anyplace else about a possible 2005 tour?

Weird. I wonder what that's all about. Do we allow rumor threads here at LPA? Sorry, so used to the LPU forums. Thanks for the rumor anyway -- I'll keep it in mind. ^_^

The band will most likely be in the studios recording their new album, so I highly doubt it.

i have now talked to 3 people that heard the same thing on the radio and confirmed this.

contact the venue and ask them. I'm sure they will know if they are playing or not.

I thought the Meteora tour cycle was over? Also, like Mark said, they will probably be in the studio recording the new album.

its probably a one off show.

Maybe they plan to release something new at that time and they plan to promote with a one show! (w00t)

That is a possibility. If this show rumor is true, we have no choice but to leae our options open.

I just looked at the Target Center's events calendar, and it says nothing about Linkin Park performing at any time.

Why Minnesota though? Haha, talk about random. :P

I seriously doubt that anyone would choose the Twin Cities for a one-show promo. Unless they were born there or something, which LP was not. Much as I'd like it to be true (I'm a Twin Cities girl), I just don't think it is.

HOWEVER!

93X has often given incorrect information. Perhaps the venue is wrong. I'd check some of the smaller venues, such as The Quest Club, First Avenue, The Fine Line, Roy Wilkins, etc, etc. And try the Xcel Energy Center as well.

Vampire

It just may not be on the event's website yet. Someone call up 93X and ask where they heard this, please! That should help.

I really hope they do the new material thing :P Ok expecting a little too much but I'm desperate for new material! And if there is none, then LP should stay inside the studio making some! :P

Well I really doubt this is true after LP said they'd be in the studio anyway...

I listen to 93X everyday for about 8 hours a day and have heard nothing about LP coming to Minnesota. They must of made a mistake about LP coming on the 14th. It would be on 93X's website if they said they were.

I hope they will have their concert in Malaysia again. I am very upset because I was underage when they are here. I can't go to the ground and hear them sing and at that time I had to sit far away and watch them sing. Plz held a concert in Malaysia again!!! :(

i talked to 93x and they said that i must have misheard.. maybe THEY got another story mixed up.. but if the new albums slated for mid 2006.. which is probly not true, and as albums do, will get delayed til the end of the year. so, a tour this spring may be possible.. if you look at how they did meteora, its completely possible for a tour.

Doesn't Minneapolis just rule? It's one of my favorite American cities...needless to say, on the off chance that this IS true, I'm takin a trip down to MSP to see this (w00t)

Haven't got my fingers crossed though...

Well Mike is doing his Collabs, there's talks of Chester doing a solo record, Joe might be doing his movie now (my speculation). The Band is supposedly taking time off right now.

If you read the rest of the thread you would discover that its very unlikely they will be touring in 2005 becasue of other commitments and their new album!

i originally started this because i heard that they were performing and i wanted to know if anybody else in the world heard anything about a tour date in a city near them. it ended up not being true and that the radio station made a false statement, but i obviously didnt know that at the time and i took their word. and just because a site doesnt have a tour date doesnt mean that its not going to happen. ive heard about concerts before the sites had the dates up.
on another note, a past news article on this site showed a quote from chester saying that they are looking at a mid 2006 release. and as all of us know by now, everyone in the band is taking a break/doing side projects/whatever. i dont see a realistic mid 2006 release. i can see a possible late 2006 release.

first of all.. has the band actually said they wouldnt tour in 2005? and if they did, i want proof.. not some word of mouth garbage.. and if u remember correctly.. what did they do before they released meteora? they had an lpu tour and played some songs off the album.. whos to say they wont do that again? and according to a news article this site posted a while back.. warner brothers said that LP would be releasing thier newest album by the end of the year.. whether this is just pressure to release it by the label or that it may be a fact due to the band just hiding that that they already have some material to record (ignoring statements from chester about a mid 2006 release).. there is a possibility of a 2005 release and potential tour..

they played some shows in europe just before they released meteora - there was an LPU show at nottingham and they also played other (no LPU) shows in the UK also, and maybe on in paris. dont quote me on that though

Well, considering the fact they haven't even entered the studios yet and that they take such a long time to record new albums, the chance of a 2005 tour is very slim. It'd be very late in the year, if that slim chance ever presented itself.

They're busy with side-projects, resting, and then they'll record. Again, a 2005 tour is not happening.

how do you know that they haven't recorded anthing?
maybe they are doing like they did with meteora, and recorded on the road, and just haven't made it a studio version yet.

you just contradicted yourself with the tour thing and it's is possible, not just a "slim chance", cause they still have about 11 more months (as of Jan 24)

and a song (if you think about it) could take as little as a week (if you want quality) and they could have about 25 already thought out.

and they could do a meteora and do a tour before the release.

besides if any is talking about the collision course collaberation: the live show was done in like march and the album was done before then so they weren't doing a collab., they did a collab.

If LP were to do a tour this year, it would have to be very late in the year. I can't see it personally, but i'm sure they will probably do a couple of shows or something, and they will probably be at the end of the year too.

They haven't recorded anything in the studio yet. I already explained this in the New Album thread. With Mike doing side-projects and the other members taking a break, they shouldn't be in the studios for a good bit. During the 'Meteora' recording process, it took five months to record the album, then it was mixed a month later. That's six months. Give one or two months extra for post-production (marketing, etc), plus more time for delays. That sends us into early 2006 as a possible release time. Maybe they'll get quicker and record the album faster, who knows, but with their slow knack of doing things, it's unlikely there will be a tour in 2005. Maybe the odd show. But no tour.
