View Full Version : Will there be another Mash-UP?

Now that fans, Jay-Z and Linkin Park ones, are rejoicing this mash-up album, let's bring up an interesting question. Will there be another MTV Ultimate Mash-Up?

Now I know that Linkin Park and Jay-z was considered semi-impossible before, but Linkin Park is very mixed in rock and rap so the collaboration and negotiating parts went smoother than expected. If you were to bring in two genre artists who are concentrated so deeply in their music it would be much more difficult, almost impossible. You could never bring in the Strokes and Christina Aguilerra together for real and make one song or even two without complications (although if they did it could more special than LPJZ because they are totally different). So I guess the only way there can be another MTV Ultimate Mash-Up is if one of the artists have mixed music styles, maybe the Roots or (gulp) Limp Bizkit.

whaddya think?

I'm pretty sure LP won't do another Mash-up album...at least for a while.

I would hate another Mash up album.

I think maybe after Linkin Park brings out some new material they might do a volume 2 or something, theres always a possibility

There will probably be another "mash-up" album but not featuring Linkin Park and Jay-Z. The show wasn't designed just for them.

They should do a Milli Vanilli/Ashlee Simpson mash up next. 100 brownie points for those who get that.

I'd like there to be another mash-up with rock and rap. Maybe Nas (king of rap) and let's say......The White Stripes :P

Please don't double post, you'll get yourself into trouble. And by the way, Brad doesn't like Britney Spears anymore. They asked him on a TV special.

I don't think there will be another mash up. I think that MTV did it just for LPJZ. From my understanding, it was Linkin Park's idea, and they usually do unique things, and MTV just went with it.

personally i dont like mash up albums, i fell like they ruin the origianl songs and in the mash up case, thatd be two songs per track.

Actually, it was MTV's idea to have a Mash-Up show, they contacted Jay-Z with the idea and Jay-Z contacted LP.

But I hear they're going to have Coldplay and such on the show... looks interesting.

As to the general attitude of the Mash-Up, it depends. Some mashes make both songs so much better, or only one better and so on. For example, 'What More Can I Say' by Jay-Z mashed with The Beatles' 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps.'

I'm not sure... But have you guys listen to Faint-Toxic???? It was good... but-uh... The chorus was Toxic and the Verses are LP's faint lyrics.

I hope there isn't another mash-up...but, if the songs were original that'd be a different story!
