Alright, I have XFire, and I've noticed that alot of people play CS. So, I was planning on buying it, when I looked on the internet for info on the game. Then, I found that there were multiple Counter Strike games. There's Counter-Strike:Source, Counter-Strike 1.5, CS 1.6, and CS: Condition Zero. Now, for me, this is really confusing. I just wondered what game would be the best to get (as in, what the differences are, how many people are playing online). I was thinking of buying Half-Life 2, and I see that CS:Source comes with it, but what is the difference between that & the others? I'm going to be playing online, if there even is a single-player, so I really only need to know about the multiplayer differences.
You should probably get CS : Condition Zero , since its the newest CS out right now , and most of the people who play it will mostly be on there..
Id suggest CS : Source.
Condition Zero isnt that good.
And I think that valve is planning or already did shut down CS1.5....

I've looked at some CS/Gaming forums and they agree with you rz0r: Condition Zero isn't worth buying.
The only problem is, all the stores I've looked at have only had Condition Zero or CS:Source/Half-Life 2, is v1.6 just a patch for those games, or is there an actual game called Counter Strike 1.6? So far, I'm looking toward Source, mainly because of the other players' reviews and I can't find 1.6, plus I want Half-Life 2, which by the way, does anyone have any idea if Half-Life 2 is online multiplayer? I can't find a definitive yes or no answer anywhere, so maybe one of you that owns it could give me a true answer, I hope. :unsure:

Last weekend I was looking at games and wanted to buy Half-Life 2/CS Source. I think I'm buying it later, but I have the same question: is Half-Life multiplayer online? I guess CS is multiplayer too, right?

HL2 = No multiplayer (yet).
CS = 100% multiplayer.
Half Lifes 2 offical multiplayer is CS Source.

Half Life 2 HAS multiplayer, it's has yet to be unlocked by valve though. CS:Source was released BEFORE HL2.

It was realed before if you pre-ordered hl2, you could go ahead and play it's mp before sp, another way to get people to buy off steam.

And for a little while, you could get source when you bought Condition Zero. CS: Source is not HL2's official multiplayer. HL2 HAS multiplayer built in, it just hasn't been activated yet by Valve.
