Man Suffocated Kids In Mud

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A father was charged with murder Tuesday for allegedly suffocating his two toddlers on a muddy bank of the Mississippi River the day before, authorities said.

Anthony Moore was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and was being held on $3 million bail.

Moore, 25, is accused of killing 2-year-old Toni Moore and her half brother, 10-month-old Kanya Anderson. Police said the children had the same father but different mothers.

``Both children died as a result of suffocation, and both the children had injuries consistent with being pushed down and held down in the mud,'' St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce said.

The father remained in police custody Tuesday, after being hospitalized Monday for psychiatric observation.

The toddlers were found Monday afternoon next to Moore's car, which was parked on a boat ramp at North Riverfront Park. A muddy Moore was picked up by police shortly afterward outside a relative's home.

Authorities said they did not yet know if Moore had a lawyer.

Ya gotta understand St. Louis before making generalizations about us :P ;)

The City is divided up into several sections:

St. Louis County (all the suburbs), St. Louis City and East St. Louis.

Then, St. Louis County is divided up into North County, South County, and West County. There's no East county, that's St. Louis City. North, South and West are then also divided up more into suburbs, but those are irrelivant.

Anyways, all the counties are west of St. Louis City (downtown) and StL City is the area right by the Mississippi River. Crime exists, isn't too bad though (you can be down there and be safe without a weapon, lol) and the city is where all the good stuff is (hockey, baseball, football stadiums, the Arch, ect)

Then, the counties:
West County is the rich upper class areas where there's virtually no crime. There's so little crime that cops have nothing better to do than hang out at the donut shops and pull kids over for BS violations like too dark tint, too loud stereo, ect. That's where I live (except I'm not rich) :P
South County is generally kinda hoosiery. Not much crime though, but if you go south enough you'll be in redneck heaven.
Then, North County, where this murder happened, is crimeville. Anytime you hear about a murder happening in St. Louis, chances are it was North County. Avoid that area at all costs, especially if you're driving a nice car or wearing nice clothes, you're gonna get robbed.

Then East St. Louis is the part of StL in Illinois, and crime there is worse than in North County.
