What do you think of Hispanics?

I wanted to post this because I am Hispanic, one of the 40 million people that abandoned everything they had in their countries to come here to work because their countries were totally broke or had stupid and tyranic leaders...I just wanna make sure that Hispanics are accepted here, because we are becoming an important part your society (in fact, if things stay the same way the next 100 years, we'll be more than white people). Please answer.

Most of those who speak Spanish ; therefore, Mexico, Cuba, all Central Amerian countries and all South American countries minus Brazil.

I personally haven&#39;t got any problem with Hispanics. However, I do see a large portion (and I mean large) of them with a "i&#39;m-a-gun-totin&#39;-drug-dealin-gangster-who-you-should-always-be-wary-of" image. A lot of Hispanic people I see nowadays have tattoos everywhere, wear ratty clothes, and hang out in huge packs, it seems to provide an indimidating image. As far as they go, I haven&#39;t got a problem with them personally (I know a lot of Hispanic people, and the ones I know are really nice), but there&#39;s a lot of Hispanics out there ( that I see, anyways ) that seem to want to use it to their advantage to look "tough"...

Exactly. That&#39;s why I never look at a group of people in the same light. Hispanics, as per our example, can be and generally are very nice, hard-working people, just like everybody else. But what I see a lot are the &#39;gangsta-I&#39;m-gonna-pop-a-cap-in-yo-***&#39; type. There were a lot of this type in and around Chicago when I was down there, but there were a lot of friendly Hispanics as well...something I think shows that they don&#39;t all want to be looked at as tough and scary...

Well it&#39;s actually asking just generally people in this country, not us specifically.

I have no problems with anyone. I don&#39;t look at a person and think of what race they are. Does it matter? It bothers me how some people point out a certain race and talk about them as if they were from another planet.

I think this topic should have been placed in the Racism thread. I think what the topic starter was probably trying to get across was why some people talk about Hispnaics. Like they call them "Spics" or a lot of people on tv and even in real life make fun of Mexicans or Puerto Ricans and stuff like that.

no problem with them at all..my boyfriend was raised from birth by his step father who is hispanic. he speaks fluent spanish and his brother and sister are half hispanic. my son Carlos (not my boyfriends son) is half hispanic.

I think last night some hispanics were trying to blow up a target. They put 4 propane tanks in a shopping cart with a bunch of other pieces attached to it, and it looked very fishy. They didn&#39;t really try to conceal what they were doing, so it might&#39;ve just been the soda. :lol:

shortly before the store closed?

I work at Target, and at least at the one I work at has a cleaning crew they hire to clean up the store overnight. Everyone on the cleaning crew is Hispanic and they use the propane to power their floor buffers. Usually about 5 minutes before the store closes you&#39;ll see them coming into the store with the propane

oh yeah, you&#39;re from the St. Louis area, which Target was it?

Yeah, the floor buffers are mostly the propane-powered ones when it comes to big grocery stores. I work at Superstore (Stupidstore) here in Winnipeg...some of ours are propane-powered, and the newer ones are electric (the fancy Nobles ones). Every time I&#39;m on a morning shift, night crew is still in there when I arrive, and you can smell the stuff all over...you&#39;ve gotta open the back doors to get air in :lol:

Like one member said earlier, this thread is sort of pointless to have on here. If a member were to go on a tyrant saying they didn&#39;t like hispanics, it could possibly be viewed as racist and thus be against the rules. Even saying "I dont like hispanic people" is racist, and any anti hispanic behavior on here could result in a warning.

Moving on, I could give two sh*ts if you were black, asian, hispanic, indian or whatever. As long as you don&#39;t look at me as some &#39;stupid white person&#39;, I have no problems with you, and I&#39;d even be your friend regardless of your nationality. I&#39;m friends with several people who are hispanic, and they are no different from anyone else on this earth. Anyone who thinks you&#39;re different just because you speak another language, or have a different skin color seriously needs to get a reality check. We&#39;re all the same on the inside, and in the end we&#39;re all human beings no matter what we are.

I don&#39;t believe hispanics are stealing everyone&#39;s jobs, and like Maddox once said, hispanic people are hired more because they are willing to do the job for less then most people, and can sometimes do a better job then the person hired before them.

Just because you&#39;re colored and hired, doesn&#39;t mean your stealing a job. If I was to take a black person&#39;s job from them, would that mean I&#39;m stealing work from the blacks of my community? Not really, and anyone who thinks that is a complete and utter moron.

i dont know about you guys, but i live in the united states, and although i hate the country, there is one thing that sticks out from everyone else. here, everyone is an immigrant, or their family members are or something like that. it does not matter where they are from, no one is native to the us (except the native americans, of course). so no matter what you are, you are not alone in your immigration.

and there will always be prejudice. there will always be racism. my own boyfriend is, but i am working on him. people just have to get over it.
