Derek & I Need Your Opinions

Derek and I need your help! We've been getting mixed emotions about the name of our band (for one, a member doesn't like "The Image Portrayed" but really likes "Tragic End") so we need your opinions! Please vote and tell us which name we should use, or, if you have another idea, please specify it for us!

The Image Portrayed.

I'm going to speak my mind though, i'm not trying to sound mean, but I beleive you said none of you really know how to play the instruments and your taking lessons soon. I think you should worry less about the band name/lyrics/album covers and worry more about becoming very good at your instruments. A band doesnt get signed because of their album art, or because they have a cool band name.

I was just saying it seems you guys are too worried about the album covers, your name and what your lyrics are gonna be, when I think you said none of you really play an instrument yet.

i think that band names just come as the band starts n stuff so you shouldnt worry about it much at the moment. i think The Image Portrayed sounds good but it is really up to yous...

All right, you've probably already heard the story but I'm going to tell it again...

In a few years Derek, my friend, and I are hoping to be able to start a band. Our sound will come to us as we start writing music and learning what each other is capable of, but for now we want to see if we can go for a hip-hop/rock/techno kind of sound. It's not going to be like Linkin Park at all, so don't think we're just going to try to copy off of LP. We want a nice heavy sound like Dry Cell, but we want to also have a sort of hip-hop type of sound, kind of like what Mike brings to LP. As for "techno," that'll be something to experiment with. It'd be sort of like Deadsy and Orgy, but not to the full extent. Anyway, once we learn what we're capable of and we start writing the music and rehearsing with each other we want to put out a promo EP with a few cover songs on it. After that we're hoping we can put a name together and songs and such and record our own material. For now we're just coming up with ideas. Derek's already told me that he is taking bass lessons this spring and my friend and I are going to learn guitar over the summer and possibly take vocal lessons, that way we can write parts for our instruments and record them to our PCs and use a program like ACID Pro or Pro Tools (still thinking about how we'll manage that) and we'll put together some demo stuff over the internet.

P.S.: We're still looking for someone willing to be a drummer, lol.

And that's the story... hopefully we can really get this off the ground. It'd be too phat if we did, and we'd thank everyone from the LPA for helping us in our little "CD booklet" thing, lol.

i'm learning drums :) but i've already got two bands set for me. like my friends at school, we're gonna start a band sometime. and my friends at church/fellowship/band, we're gonna start a band and start out with covers. in one of my bands, our first album will maybe be called Chubby Bunny (inside joke)

oh yea, i voted for and like The Image Portrayed. Tragic End sounds wierd to me.
