View Full Version : Linkin Park in 10 years?

Well, what do you think will become of one of the biggest rock groups out right now?
Blaze
06-03-2004, 05:06 PM
they will still be selling milllions and going on tours. metallica has been doing it for 20 years so i figure with a little luck and skill it would be no problem for them to keep going and be popular ^_^
althougha chester solo album would be amazing

I'd like to see them making new records and selling millions of them. ;)
I hope that Chester's voice will not change, too!

Well hopefully whatever happens, they won't be 35-40 years old and still singing about finding where they belong.
What are the blank options for?

Poll fixed, please try to follow the instructions given to seperate each question so that you will not have blank poll options in the future.
All the members will probably still be making music in 10 years, it's just really hard to tell if they will be making music as Linkin Park.

What he said. Which is why I voted for the "solo careers" option. Not that I would object to them being around in 10 years, providing they grow as musicians and songwriters, but let's face it...most bands don't last that long.

Chester: He'll be out doing his solo thing. Or a Grey Daze reunion, which I hope I never live to see.
Mike: He'll be an accomplished underground MC. I'd compare him to a modern day Canibus, with the big words & complex rhymes (see: Demos, Hybrid Theory)
Joe: He'll be along with Mike, somewhere.
Brad, Rob & Phoenix: Random bands. I could see one of them going into a heavier project. Or Linkin Park V2.0 (see: Roses, Guns n)
Yeah. And as for Limpbizkit being fat, bloated & forgotten, they're all but forgotten. Just because they're not on MTV doesn't mean they're out of the musical world.

They'll be well off, if they make the next album better than Hybrid Theory. They don't have to be heavier or softer, they just have to be good. Instead of being pressured to be like Band A or Band Z, they'll be Band X.

Well, we ban teenies on sight... so saying "they won't be as hot then as they are now" was a really, really dumb thing to say.
Considering that that can be taken two ways: The first, that they won't be as hot then as they are now because they're all old and wrinkly; the second being that they aren't as popular.
Given the fact that we ban teenies on sight... it was pretty justified at first. Then it wasn't justified. And since the person had two user names anyway, it was justified again.
But now, back on topic, people.

It is a tie between them going on their own solo projects or them still going strong in 10 years. It is like a choose ur own adventure book from the 80's, if they go with another producer for their third or fourth album, they make it through these next 10 years, and if they choose Don Gilmore for their next album, they'll get tired of Don Gilmore's cookie-cutter song formats and drift off into their own solo projects but they'll still like collaborate and stuff like that
Sylar
06-04-2004, 12:33 AM
Personally, i'd love to see Solo Projects from members. A Mike Shinoda rap album would rock as would a Chester Bennington rock album. Id give anything to have a Chester Solo album.
I picked the plane crash one..
But seriously, I think they will be doing their own stuff.

I think in ten years the group Linkin Park will all participate in moderating a message board by banning TeeNies on sight.

What I really think is that they will continue to do what they love and enjoy, entertaining their fans... even if they are TeeNies. :)

What will happen (in order of events):
1. Linkin Park's next album will be a complete covering of Britney Spear's "In The Zone" because of (according to Brad) "our love for boobies".
2. Mr. Hahn will admit that his last name is really "Schmoe". Joe Schmoe, you see -- he did not want to be hounded for his last name.
3. Phoenix will see the light, leave Linkin Park, and join The Blue Man Group as trash can banger #18.
4. Rob will officially change his name to "Mr. Winkey" for no apparent reason, other than to out-do Joe.
5. Mike and Chester will both come out of the closet and admit they've arranged to have a marriage in San Fransisco.

i have doubts about how long they will be able to keep selling millions of albums i think their third album will be the decider for how long they will be around for
i can see 3 - 5 years definitly though

Due to a brain warped by drugs and alchahol, Chester will leave to star in a reality tv show screened on MTV and C4 known as "The Benningtons". The popularity of the remaining band will dwindle, and they will return to how they started, playing at small bars and pubs.
God I hope not.

nah, i dont think linkin park wouldnt get a new lead singer....there too respectful for chester, so i guess they would probably break up but still be friends...but in my opinion like some else said in 10 years i hope theyll still be together but not singing where they belong! i think theyll be more mature, and be linkin park and writing songs that have meanings to it...

i should hope that they will still be making cd's bein' on tour and just plain rockin out... but you know they are already 20-sum years old and how long can chester's voice really last? and chester already has a kid, they all probably will too by then so they will be spending more time with them then with there music cause there kids would be more important then... us. :wth:
not to be a pesimist or anything... i did say no.1 *though just in hopes*

07-02-2004, 03:22 AM
i voted for no.1. but sadly i dont think it very likely.
chester's been getting sick and the last was serious enough to be put in the hospital. and with all that screaming he does he's bound to lose his chords sometime. and when he does like the above stated, they have too much respect for him to just replace him. he was the final piece of the puzzle to complete Linkin Park and without him it just wouldn't be the same in my opinion.
oh but i do think they'll be around for a least another 5 years. but as huge an LP fan i am, i realize that only their music can last forever.

Well, I voted for choice #1. It's hard to picture LP as a band like Metallica, AC DC, or Aerosmith. They are already great. Hopefully they'll grow with time and change to make what people are looking for. Aerosmith just put out a "blues" album and Kid Rock went straight country. Great artists do that. I love LP's sound and their formula for tracks and albums...If they keep up what they're doing, I'm sure we can expect to see a lot of great stuff come from their them. Go LP!

07-02-2004, 11:08 AM
i don't think they will last that long. if chester keeps on screaming like that,he's gonna lose his voice.then they'll split.brad, rob, phoenix won't be making music anymore.mike will become a producer(like someone else posted),joe will become a director and if chester recovers he will release a solo album...
but i hope i'm proved wrong ^_^
