Yellowcard Pay Tribute To The 'Heroes Of 9/11'

Yellowcard have dedicated their new single, 'Believe', to the US emergency services who worked in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
The band have revealed they will send copies of the single to every possible department in New York, New Jersey and Washington DC.
"It's a tribute song to the heroes of 9/11," says frontman Ryan Key. "We're pressing CD singles and putting in a letter from the band and we're sending them out to every fire and police department in those areas. We're paying for it; we want them to hear the song and know that there's young people who are trying to teach others that there are still good people left in the world."
On a lighter note, the fivesome will return to the UK to perform at this summers Carling Weekend Festival in Reading and Leeds.
"It's way more than our little band thought we would ever get to do," gushes Key. "It's an honour, growing up being into rock bands, like Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Soundgarden who played the festival. It's incredible to know that we're going to be a part of it."
'Believe' is out May 31 through parlophone.

That's from last weeks Kerrang! Mag. I had to type it up >_<

Anyway, it's cool what they're doing and it's an awesome song for a single, it's the song that got me into them. ^_^

about 3 years to late to release a single dedicated to 9/11, don't ya think?

I don't know why they keep calling "Believe" their new single when their new single is "Only One."

They're probably not shooting a video for 'Believe', so it's probably a just a promo thing. 'Only One' is the next single.

I hate Yellowcard, but I tip my hat to them, and it is nice of them to do such a thing

Well, "My December" wasn't pressed as a single. It was only featured on a compilation CD. This "Believe" on the other hand is actually getting pressed as a single, even though "Only One" is the real single. Maybe it's a "Lying From You"/"Breaking The Habit" kind of thing.

If it is similar to LP's situation, I hope they play it on the radio here. I haven't heard "Lying From You" on the radio one time.

That's really cool of the band to do that, but yeah it is kind of late. Never a bad thing to do though.
