Future Regrets

Wallowing in the regrets of the past
These memories they will not fade
Worrying ‘bout yesterday ends joy fast
Remorse shows in my shadows cast

Next time I will create my dreams steadfast
If I get the chance to know that
Next time I promisé to make it last
Next time I won’t let it go past

If we can’t bear the antecedent sun
Then what’s there worth enduring for
We cannot escape even when we run
These lingering thoughts kill all fun

Clinging to yesterdays brings no tom’row
We stroll in place, we reminisce
The sun rises, I regret elapsed sorrow
There’s no period to borrow

Regrets only carry me to the grave
In the dark moonlight I am slain
I am made agony’s eternal slave
