James Bond-style walking stick aims to protect OAPs
A James-Bond style walking stick that can help pensioners fight off muggers has been unveiled at an inventors fair in Serbia.
The stick fires blank bullets or turns into a deadly Ninja fighting stick with two retractable blades that spring out of the end at the touch of a button.
It is also equipped with a thermometer to help elderly citizens watch out for cold weather and and a compass to help them find their way home.
There is also a holder for medicines in the deluxe version and a "panic button" that sounds an alarm for help.
Miladin Nikolic, 62, came up with the idea for the 007 walking stick after he got attacked by stray dogs in the Serbian capital recently.
He said: "I started to work out how to frighten off the dogs and then started to think of all the other things I could add to the stick, and it just grew from there."
The inventor told Serbian daily newspaper Glas Javnosti: "I said to myself I didn't want any more nasty surprises like those dogs - this makes walking an altogether safer experience. You should see the dogs run when I come down the road."
Mr Nikolic says the stick, which is on display in Belgrade, is designed to merely scare off attackers and not harm them in any way.
He claims springs on the knives ensure they only look fierce and would not cause serious damage if jabbed at a mugger or a stray dog 'in self defence'.
I want one XD
