Maroon 5 definitely needed the full-pop makeover. I mean yes I like their older stuff better but I'd definitely get sick of them if they stayed in their funk-pop style. Many people view TOP as the second coming of emo rap rock, which is not necessarily a good thing.
Voice cracks all the time, consistently has to alter melodies because she can't hit high notes live, and had vocal chord surgery in her 20s because of her poor technique. But okay, lol. She's basically a female Robert Plant (another extremely overrated vocalist - and another unpopular opinion of mine). I'll add another one too - Chester Bennington's voice was better utilized in Grey Daze than it ever has been in Linkin Park.
Oh it definitely is if you talk to people. Twenty One Pilots headlined a festival in my state last month and EVERYONE complained about them being a headliner. Plus just go around the internet, a lot of people view them as a joke. Ironically it's the only genre I think has gotten worse over time. Literally every other genre (yes, even rock) I think has gotten better. The peak of rap/Hip-Hop was the late 90s- early 00s.
Fair opinion. I think hip hop is more diverse than ever. So many different styles and mainstream and independent/underground seem to be closer than ever. Late 90s/00s was great too of course. Lots of classics
I can already feel the wrath of @Blake coming but here goes... Blink-182 are probably the luckiest band in the world. They had 2 singers, Mark and Tom. Two singers but neither of them could actually sing. Mark had a very small safe zone that he never ventured from, and Tom... all I can say about Tom is "WHEERREEE AAAREEEE YOOOOUUU ANNND OOOIIIMMM SOO SAAARRYYYY" Not only that, but they've managed to replace Tom with Matt who is a wonderful vocalist!! To give some balance however, I still am a big fan of Blink and I actually think I-Empire (Angels and Airwaves) is a pretty solid album Sorry
Agree. even though there're some exaptions like TLTGYA. I mean listen to the chorus of this song, it's amazing!
