You take the rusty screw from your pocket, and hold it up to the small hole beneath the door knob. You poke it through, the jagged ridges get caught on the edge of the hole, but applying more force each time successfully pushes the screw into the hole. You hear something fall out the other side, it sounds like a small metal pipe, so you pull the screw out and notice the jamming object is gone. What do you do? YOUR STATS: HEALTH: 100 ENDURANCE: 100
You place the screw back inside your pocket, and pick up your wooden plank. With one hand holding the plank, you use the other to turn the door knob, this time it follows through, and you slowly push the door open. You release the knob, and hold your wooden plank with both hands, you then slowly shift forward and lean back just enough to continue to push the door open. Once the door is opened, you pause and wait, remembering the breathing from before. You slowly peak around the corner, there is nothing there, so you step inside completely. Two windows illuminate the room, there is a table in the middle of the room with pieces of torn paper scattered upon it, and finally, on the far side of the room there is a staircase heading downwards. For those of you who missed the small print, Joseph is done for the night. He'll be back in nine hours or so, apparently. You can keep making moves in the meantime but please keep off-topic posting to a minimum so it's easier for newcomers to catch up. Thank-you all for a great start! Paradox.
Yeah I figured he'd just read it when he signed back on And I'm actually proud that I managed to keep the Rhapsody relevant to the discussion, thank you very much!
I check carefully the two windows, having in mind the thing that I saw before on the forest. Trying to notice the structure of the building and its possible exits, making a mental map of the disposal of the rooms.
With the wooden plank held high by your side, you move to the other side of the room, near the windows, and you pass them by as you approach the staircase ahead. When you eventually reach the top of the staircase, you peer down, looking for any signs of anything. Eventually you carefully take a step down, gripping the wooden plank tighter. You move extremely slowly down the stairs, taking a step at a time. Eventually once you reach the bottom floor, you remain still as you look around the room, you're in the kitchen. There is cutlery, shattered plates and cups everywhere, especially on the kitchen table. You notice some of the drawers are gone, but some still remain. There is a door a meter ahead to your left. You move to the kitchen bench, still with the wooden plank held tightly beside you. You use one hand to open some of the benches, keeping hold of the wooden plank. There is only only column of drawers. You slide open the first one only to find there is nothing inside, so you slide it shut again, moving down to the second one below. You open it, and again, there is nothing inside. You try the third and last one below it, and again you find nothing inside. You turn around and notice a drawer further past the staircase full of cutlery, and so you head on over to check it out. You move around the pieces of cutlery before you retract your hand after feeling a pinch, you've been cut, but it is nothing to be concerned about. You slowly move around more cutlery to find a sharp knife hiding under some utensils, you grab the handle and pick it up slowly. You deem it as a valuable weapon. Carefully, you slip the knife into your pocket, but it doesn't seem to fit safely. You question if the wooden plank in really necessary anymore. What do you do? YOUR STATS: HEALTH: 98 ENDURANCE: 100
You place the wooden plank beside you, and grip the knife firmly in the palm of your hand, this is your weapon now. You move over to the door, turn the knob and slowly enter the room. You're on edge, you still have no idea what is going. The first thing you notice when you open the door is a television beyond the couch in front of you, you freeze instantly, the television is on, but all you can see is white noise, there is no sound. Next to the television is a radio, but it looks in bad condition. The fact that the television is on has you worried. What do you do? YOUR STATS: HEALTH: 98 ENDURANCE: 100
Check the rest of the room, especially the couch Edit: Then, try changing the channels and turning on the radio to get any kind of information possible
