A discussion thread for all things Mortal Kombat X. Dat gameplay The song choice was shit though. That song totally took me out of it. It's odd, and doesn't fit at all.
DAT GAMEPLAY DOE Man, I'm pumped now. Always been a big MK fan, and actually the song isn't half bad (not bad, Wiz, not bad). As a guy who prefers Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot over Scorpion, though...come on. EDIT: If Rain's in this one, I'm hyped. My favorite character is Rain.
The song sucked but I don't even give a shit. Super stocked. And of course Scorpion won cause he is the best character, obviously.
My comment on IGN, in response to the rap song used on the trailer: An ACTUAL response to my comment:
It was confirmed to be CGI. But I like how they made it look like gameplay. It won't look this good since it's on last gen consoles sadly. I'm excited though. You can never have enough fatalities.
Funny how one video of one fight could spark so much speculation. I'm wondering if Sub-Zero will actually be able to spontaneously use tree branches as weapons in-game, if other characters will be able to do similar things, maybe based on a super-meter; if, based on the costumes, some of the story will flash back to Scorpion's "feudal Japan" or whatever, or if that's simply a new look for the characters' costumes that's being used in this new game rather than an indication of something else ... If they're picking up the plot from the last game, will they fill out the majority of the roster with new characters? Or will they just resurrect everyone who was slaughtered in the last game? In either case, Sektor survived. Just hope that he appears in the roster.
Why is there already boxart? I say that promo has started too early. Scorpion is the franchise's mascot. Probably part of the reason he always beats Sub-Zero in the trailer fights too.
The Wolverine of the Mortal Kombat franchise right thurr. The song fit just fine. I'm interested in seeing how the storyline continues to unfold.
The PS4 version should have Sub Zero facing the left side so it's like an opposite version of the Xbox One cover. Like this: About the interaction with the environment(tree branches etc). There'll probably be no meter or anything and every character will be able to do it. This feature was introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Just press RB or R1 and you grab an object from the background and fuck it at your opponent.
A couple of new characters will be shown at E3, according to a recent tweet: "Two ... new favourites" suggests that there are fair few more that will be included, or maybe saved for DLC Pre-fight banter My theory that the story will cover two different timelines - maybe that means a flashback, maybe something else - is holding up so far.
