In a surprise move, Linkin Park has just uploaded the music video for Talking To Myself to their YouTube channel. The video is directed by Mark Fiore, consisting of live and behind the scenes footage. With the release of this video, the rumors about Talking To Myself being the follow up single to Heavy becomes stronger. What do you think of the video? Come and discuss in our forums.
This is the first time Mark Fiore has directed a video since Given Up right? Also glad to see the videos from the Fan Footage filming show up here!
Is it me or is it the guitar kinda stops in the end? Like before Brad's guitar finishes it suddenly stops?
Awesome work by Fiore. This is one of my favorite songs from the album, and it's really fun live too.
Jeez Linkin Park. Get your single releases straight already! Make up your minds, set a release date and build up some buzz around a song before even releasing it or at least for the video. I was hoping their single releases this album cycle would be better than the disaster that were THP and LT(remember LITE and COG?) single releases. 'Heavy' was promoted perfectly which was why it lasted as long as it did on the charts and that is one of their weakest songs ever! Ugh. I know it shouldn't annoy me but I'm so annoyed with how their single releases have been (aside from lead singles of course) /rant Edit - I'm even more annoyed because this is a great song and a great video. Promote it properly!
Also, it's hilarious that the band put the boomerang post from instagram at 3:10 with Chester. You probably wouldn't be the only one. I liked the video but I think I had a different picture in my mind for a video for this song.
I understand you, but, let's wait it hit the radio. I kinda liked the "surprise" of this video coming out of nowhere and maybe it surprisingly get some decent airplay.
This might not even be a proper single at all. A lot of bands will give a song a video and just sort of pop it out there, but won't make a real effort to get it traction as a single. They might have just done this as a kind of "reminder" that they have a new album out and never come back to it again. That said it's my favorite, and I'd like if they made a serious effort to get it off the ground. But I don't expect them to.
That's the problem. Invisible was actually supposed to be the 2nd single. At least Adam mentioned that it was being considered as the 2nd single in places outside of US because back then Heavy was doing well in the US. But Invisible didn't get any video or traction to it and nobody knows what happened to it. This is what annoys me about LP's single releases. TTM is perfect for radio. It is very much "Linkin Park" that casual listeners will understand but it's still new and very radio friendly.
When I first read that it was just live and studio footage I thought it was a little lazy, but I thought it was kind of a unique video - and nice to watch. I thought it did a nice job of highlighting the quirkiness of the band, highlighting the fun they're having too. I think it fits in well with the vibe they're giving off as a group, so I'm down with it.
Aside from the music video, have you guys seen the death hoax tmz put up involving Chester?! I think it's pretty cruel to be honest...
http://m.tmz.com/#article/2017/07/20/linkin-park-singer-chester-bennington-dead-commits-suicide/ This is beyond cruel, definitely NOT funny at all
