Didn't see a topic for it yet, so I thought I'd make one...

I'm only a few tracks in, but so far it's pretty bland. Does the record get much better? There are 15 tracks, which normally I'd like, but none of the tracks have really stuck out so far except for the single ("If I Were You").

Yeah, I deleted it before I finished it.

I was just not into it, which is sad because I loved the first Hoobastank CD and even "The Reason" but that damn song was career suicide for them. I do like the new single though.

I completely disagree with both of you. I think it's a great album.

To me, nothing really stands out because everything is different. They have a handful of the slow songs but there's a different style to most of the songs. I.E. The Queen Vibe in the beginning of Moving Forward or the Punk feeling to Without a Fight. It seems to me that they tried to make it as diverse as they possibly could, which I enjoy. The vocals are really good too, in my opinion, but I've always loved his voice.

I haven't picked it up yet, but I will one of these days. I liked 'The Reason'(the album, not the song), and I read in a magazine that "If I Were You" was inspired by Scott Weiland treating them badly when they were on tour together. Pretty cool.

It is dismal. There are only a few songs on it I wouldn't call boring. Their ballad attempts send me to sleep, they do rockier stuff best as seen on 'born to lead' and 'inside of you' Those two songs are the only songs that aren't mediocre. I had nothing against the 'the reason' but it takes more than just a ballad to climb the charts. there are way too many of them on this album.

I really liked 'If I were you', which is the only single that has reached India, and I think it's lyrically and musically their level, if not higher, and I was thinking of getting the album, but now I'm having second thoughts...

Maybe I won't get it. I like their faster songs like Out Of Control.

There are a couple songs like that, but this is a very diverse album, instrumentally. The songs tend to include more emotional singing rather than hard hitting songs like Pieces or Out of Control. So you might not like the majority of it but you should like Born to Lead, Without a Fight, and Inside of You.

Inside of You is such a fun song.

I didn't like it too much .. some songs are good, but most of the songs are slow .... that sucks .. I really prefer their old stuff , slow songs are good, but a full cd with that kind of songs ...... no thanks ..
I don't like the fact that Doug [voice] sings fucking awesome on CD, specially on this one, but in concerts he's really bad ...

I'm in love with the album, but most specifically "Born to Lead". It's by FAR their best song. I love it. Brings back memories of Full Metal Jacket.

    "Finally Awake" is great, too.

EXACTLY. When you listen to his voice, in every song, you'd just go, "WOW"...but then he messes up all the high notes and the flow when he's on live.

Yeah, the one time I saw them, they were really good...I think that ever since the MTV performance, everyone just assumes that they suck.

Well, I haven't seen too many Hoobastank live shows...but the ones I've seen were disappointing after is amazing pitches and vocals in the album...

Is it me or is this album not getting publicity at all on radio/tv, etc.?
