Not really, I just expected a good album. Looks like it's hard for some to admit DBS just wasn't too good.
The difference is that when he's with Linkin Park these days, whoever's writing the songs they're generally better than DBS. In my opinion anyway. Maybe he just doesn't contribute that much to LP besides vocals and lyrics, or maybe it gets better stuff out of him somehow.
Mike's my boy and all, but I was under the impression that Brad was pretty... instrumental in the kind of production aspect of the band? And guys LP wouldn't be LP without Joe making awesome videos.
Yeah. It always seemed to me like Brad was probably second after Mike in terms of coming up with the songs themselves.
I think each member of the band has their strongsuits and the band wouldn't have made it as far if one of them didn't excell in their area of strength. They compliment each other quite well.
IMO I think it failed due to its horrid promotion. DBS could have been bigger that Fort minor, but they didn't even get their own website! let alone a fanclub. They really dropped the ball on that one.
Linkin Park is everyones guilty pleasure no matter what. If they didnt split when Chester was out getting drunk, and bringing like a pound of weed on the bus and just getting fucked up after every show then I think they can last. They have already had 2 people in the band do side projects and they didnt split. They have said they are having the most fun they have ever had writing music. And most off all they are to awesome to split.
Well I usually want a video to 'enhance' a song for me... It's not like I don't love the song anymore but all I'm saying is that if BitS video was made better, it could've taken the song to the top.
That makes no logical sense. I know people are dumb. But they can't be that dumb. Like Chester said, DBS is what happens when you take Mike Shinoda out of the equation. If DBS doesn't have Mike Shinoda contributing, how can any person with a functional thought process think that DBS would be anything like Hybrid Theory? Was Chester going to look for an MC to rap on DBS? Was Chester going to find a DJ to scratch on it? Was Chester going to incorporate hip-hop with DBS? All elements that make up Linkin Park's style on Hybrid Theory. So if none of those elements were present including others not mentioned, how can you say they expected another Hybrid Theory. Seems like a loosely based position. Or people are really that dumb. Or maybe they actually liked the album and don't share the same opinion as you. I really am amazed at how much people always only compare DBS with Fort Minor like its a competition. One was a rock album and the other was a hip-hop album. But because they were made by Mike and Chester, it apparently is grounds to compare. Seriously?
