James Blake's self-titled album is the only album that matters right now. Listen to it.

I'm obviously talking about the post-humous, Pitchfork BNM'd self-titled album by the ragtime and jazz musician James "Eubie" Blake. C'mon, man.

Should check that one out, kind of like Mount Kimbie's Dubstep/Four Tet thing?

    Anyway, for me so far:

    1. Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will
    2. Asobi Seksu - Fluorescence

2010 was a year when not a lot of my favourite bands released a lot of shit, so I was mostly listening to ambient/drone/dubstep shit all year, hoping this year I can get back into more guitar bands haha.

Nothing so far, but March should be awesome with Lasers by Lupe Fiasco and Awesome as Fuck by Green Day.

The stuff I'm anticipating off the top of my head:
    Thrice
    Gallows
Taking Back Sunday (with John Nolan!)
    Architects
    Lupe Fiasco
    Twin Atlantic
    Bright Eyes
    Mogwai

There are one or two others that I can think of who *could* release albums this year, but those are the ones that are either pretty much confirmed or already out there.

    *EDIT: Nevermind*

As for albums this year. R3D's album is definitely a plus, even though the leak itself was a subpar rip. But once we get a better rip of the files, I will be ecstatic.

For albums I am looking forward to this year, I am looking forward to:
Rise Against - Endgame (Spring 2011)
Foo Fighters - TBA (Spring 2011)
Get Busy Committee - Opening Ceremony (TBA 2011)
Times Of Grace - Hymn Of A Broken Man (January 18)
R3D - Until We Have Faces (February 1)
    Lupe Fiasco - L.A.S.E.R.S (March 8)

    1. Times Of Grace - The Hymn Of A Broken Man

THAT is the only album that should matter right now.

Not sure what to anticipate in 2011 except for Red (haven't listened to the leak yet) and Fair To Midland. Only two i'm really excited for right now.

Can we keep this strictly to albums you've heard that are being released in 2011? These threads always start out this way, and it feels like we should have a "Most Anticipated 2011" so these guesses can go in that thread.

I made one before, and it didn't hold up, so I don't see the point in making another one just so it can die out like the last one.

In '07 I think we started the thread a month or so before the year, so we'd have a time to anticipate albums - and then making lists and shit after the year started. For most people, there's nothing really to post at the moment rather than anticipations.

glassjaw's our colour green is the best release i've heard thus far. granted, all the songs off of it have been released prior to '11, but the ep was officially released this year, so i guess it still counts.

Yeah, seriously. How many albums do you guys listen to where there will actually be a "best of" list after 2 weeks? Adding anticipated albums seems like the only way to keep the thread alive or for us other people to have fun with this thread.

How many albums have some of you guys listened to this year, much less think they are actually good? I haven't listened to any yet lol.

I'm looking forward to more How To Destroy Angels and Trent and Atticus' score for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. And Red's third album. That's all I've really been keeping track of.

Shit didn't realise that was out. Thought they were adding an extra song on it though :/. A new Glassjaw album is my most anticipated thing forever, so hopefully that comes out this decade sometime.

I usually download pretty much anything and everything that looks interesting that's on a certain evil website that's been released/leaked for 2011 (or whatever year). It's how I discover a lot of new music. I have a 1TB harddrive so I can afford to waste the space, and just delete it if I end up hating it. Haven't gotten around to grabbing a lot of newer releases yet, I've been pretty busy in my personal life. That's about to change, though.

And, I guess since we're going with anticipations...most/some of these have probably leaked. I haven't checked yet.

    Thomas Giles - "Pulse"
Mogwai - "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will"
    Braids - "Native Speaker"
Iron & Wine - "Kiss Each Other Clean"
    Talib Kweli - "Gutter Rainbows"
Akron/Family - "S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT"
    Asobi Seksu - "Fluorescence"
Bright Eyes - "The People's Key"
    Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx - "We're New Here"
Toro y Moi - "Underneath the Pine"
    DeVotchKa - "100 Lovers"
Earth - "Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light 1"
    Patrick Wolf - "Lupercalia"

And, y'know, the usual "artist - tba" stuff, like a new Nine Inch Nails album. Dillinger Escape Plan. Tool. Drake's new one. Liquid Swords II, by GZA...

The anticipated and best albums should all be in one thread imo. Just label em properly.

With that said, I'm looking forward to...

    Megahertz - Megacy
    Lupe Fiasco - LASERS
Joe Budden - The Great Escape
    Dr. Dre - Detox
Kanye West & Jay-Z - Watch The Throne
    Drake - Take Care
    Slaughterhouse - TBA
    J. Cole - TBA
Crooked I - Million Dollar Story
Tonedeff - Chico And The Man
    Mute Math - TBA
    Copywrite - T.H.E. 2nd Coming
Death Cab for Cutie - Codes & Keys
Lupe Fiasco - Friend of the People
    RHCP - TBA
    Skylar Grey - TBA

Yeah I know :/ But I'm still looking forward to it. Hopefully Kanye will do some of the productions.
